Marketplace & community rules
Clear listings. Respectful conversations. Informed decisions. These practical rules explain how to use Baylaya across Market, Motors, Homes, Services and Jobs. Read them alongside our marketplace terms, privacy notice and consumer-rights guide.
1. Make every listing clear
List an item you own or are authorised to sell, or a service, property or job you are authorised to offer. Use the correct category and Philippine location. One listing should describe one item, a clearly described bundle or one specific opportunity.
Describe the actual condition, faults, inclusions and exclusions. State the real price and its basis, such as the full price or monthly rent. Do not use a misleading ₱1 price, unrelated keywords or duplicate listings to dominate search results.
Use photographs you took or have permission to publish. They must represent what is offered. Do not expose identity documents, private addresses, bank details or another person’s information in photographs or descriptions.
Before starting a new listing, confirm that you are at least 18 and accept the posting terms. A confirmed email is required. Submitted listings and later edits need review before the changes become public. Close a listing when it is no longer available.
2. Follow the rules for your category
Market: describe wear, missing parts and known faults. Motors: give accurate make, model, year, mileage, fuel and transmission details. Be ready to explain ownership and allow sensible inspection before a deal.
Homes: state whether the property is for sale or rent, the payment period, approximate location, area and room details. Explain deposits and other charges before an agreement. Do not claim ownership or authority you do not have.
Services: explain the scope, coverage area, availability and what a quoted or starting price includes. Jobs: identify the employer and describe the role, work arrangement and salary basis accurately. Applicants must not be asked for a recruitment fee to apply through Baylaya.
Live animals, overseas recruitment and regulated professional services are not open for posting. Other categories may remain closed while local availability and review arrangements are being prepared. A category in the browse menu does not mean posting is open.
3. Keep prohibited content off Baylaya
Do not offer illegal, stolen or counterfeit goods, weapons, controlled medicines, account or identity sales, financial solicitations, sexual services or wildlife. Do not post content that promotes fraud, violence or exploitation.
Do not impersonate another seller, Baylaya staff or a payment provider. A paid service, account check or reviewed business badge does not override listing rules or guarantee a transaction.
4. Be respectful in messages and offers
Keep conversations relevant to the listing. No threats, harassment, discrimination, sexual messages, repeated unwanted contact or unsolicited advertising. Respect a refusal. Do not use chat to gather passwords, one-time codes or financial login details.
Share only photos relevant to the listing that you own or may use. Up to four photos can be sent in one message. Do not share private documents or other people’s personal information. Unsent photos stay private to you; sent photos are available only to authorised participants.
Ask questions before offering. An offer is a request to the seller; submitting it does not reserve an item. The recipient can accept, decline or send a counteroffer. The sender can withdraw a pending offer. Earlier proposals stay in the conversation history. Accepting an offer reserves the listing in Baylaya but does not collect payment or confirm that a sale is completed. Confirm the item, price and handover arrangements together.
The inbox refreshes periodically. “Sent” means the message was stored by Baylaya. “Read” appears after the other participant has viewed the latest messages; for a business, this may be an authorised team member. These indicators are not proof of agreement, identity or payment.
Unread badges and message alerts work while Baylaya is open. Browser notifications are optional and need your permission. They stop when the app is closed; email and closed-app push alerts are not available yet.
Archiving hides a conversation from your main inbox only. It returns when a new message arrives. Blocking stops contact under the applicable account or business block; it does not file a complaint. Use Report to flag misconduct, and Support for a private complaint or appeal.
5. Agree on payment and handover
Baylaya does not currently collect item payments, hold deposits or provide escrow, buyer insurance or a guaranteed refund. Paid subscriptions and promotions are not yet available to purchase. Do not trust a message claiming that you must pay Baylaya to release your money.
For a meetup, choose a suitable public place and inspect the item before paying. For delivery, agree the courier, delivery charge, dispatch date, tracking and who handles loss or damage before you proceed. Seller-arranged delivery is not a Baylaya shipping service.
Keep the listing, conversation and payment evidence. Check payment in your own payment app or bank; a screenshot or message is not confirmation. Share a delivery address only when necessary with the intended recipient.
6. Be clear when selling as a business
Use the appropriate business account and identify who is making the offer. Explain the total price, additional charges, delivery arrangements, cancellation and after-sales terms before a customer agrees. Do not describe a business sale as a private sale to avoid obligations.
Applicable Philippine consumer rights remain in place. A blanket no-return rule cannot remove remedies where the law requires them for defective goods. The appropriate remedy depends on the transaction and circumstances; changing your mind does not automatically entitle you to a refund.
7. Reports, review and appeals
After exchanging messages, both buyer and seller must confirm their interaction is complete before the buyer can leave one seller review. Review your own experience fairly, without threats or personal details. Your display name and approved review are public. A review is not proof of payment.
Independent moderators check positive and negative reviews against the same rules. A poor rating alone is not a reason for removal. Report a review that breaks the rules, or contact Support to appeal a moderation decision.
Use the report control on a listing or conversation to explain a suspected violation. Include specific facts and do not submit false reports. Report an immediate threat to the appropriate emergency authority; Baylaya support is not an emergency service.
Review can lead to a request for changes, rejection or removal of a listing. If you disagree with a decision, open a private support case with the listing reference, decision and your explanation. Do not repost removed content to bypass review.
For an item, delivery or payment dispute, contact the seller and use Baylaya’s consumer complaint process if you need help. A support case does not reverse an external payment or guarantee compensation. You may also seek help from DTI or another appropriate authority.
